Italian converting set to dominate worldwide

description

Made in Italy converting is distinguished for its premium-quality technology, innovation and creativity, without forgetting the substantial attention afforded to sustainability and the environment. This explains why Nordmeccanica, an all-Italian company, has succeeded to achieve worldwide domination and will be at Print4All to tell the company story and present its latest developments.

The outstanding technology, the ability to innovate and the high levels of creativity, typical of the Italian work philosophy, undoubtedly characterise Italian mechanical and instrumental production. Nordmeccanica is a fine example of this. Since the 1970s, the company has grown and even succeeded in conquering overseas markets with its coating and lamination machinery, installed in five continents. In 2018, the firm will celebrate its 40th anniversary, by building on its current achievements with a view to the future.

Since 1998, when the company was taken over by the Cerciello family, investments in technology, internationalisation and strategic agreements with leading sector groups, have been a constant in terms of company development. The Duplex SL One Shot constitutes one of the latest novelties developed in partnership with Dow Chemical. It uses a solvent-free adhesive – Symbiex – created on an ad-hoc basis by Dow Chemical and allows for the attainment of packaging just 90 minutes after lamination (the application of plastic or metal films for food packaging), with respect to the standard 24-hour interval, thereby eliminating storage requirements and significantly reducing both production times and costs, in addition to harmful emissions. Research and development continue and the technological Nordmeccanica/Dow partnership ensures further improvements to the process: the system optimises production, saving both money and time, and also allows for steps to be taken towards achieving environmental sustainability, considering that the lamination process is obtained without the use of volatile organic compounds and adhesive residues.

Nordmeccanica will be at Print4All to tell the company’s story and present its latest developments. Furthermore, the company has organised an Open House event that will take place on 30 and 31 May and will enable visitors to admire the Duplex SL 1-Shot at work in collaboration with Dow, get up close and personal with numerous laminating machines and visit the metallising division, where a number of systems are currently being built.
